October 16 events
Come to Bierport for a mini-class on different beer-styles paired with a curated flight.

There are several outside elements that can effect the overall taste of your beer. And at this course, we are going to talk about them. It's time to learn when your beer isn't at its best at Off-Flavor Education Night at Spoonwood Brewing!
Brought to you as part of Pittsburgh Libations Week and led by Chris Staub, decorated home brewer with Best of Show award-winning beers two of the last three years at the T.R.A.S.H. Homebrew Competition, you will taste beer samples that have been spiked by the five most common off-flavors and learn about the potential causes.

Pittsburgh Libations Week, Lumberjaxes, and Spoonwood Brewing Company have joined forces to bring you the 1st Annual PLW Axe Throwing Tournament as part of the inaugural Pittsburgh Libations Week! This event will pit 64 axe throwers in a fun, friendly competition to determine 'the face that runs the place' regarding axe throwing in the 'Burgh.
Your entry fee gets you a spot in the tournament plus food and beers from our co-sponsor, Spoonwood Brewing Company in Bethel Park, throughout the whole evening.
October 19 Events

Beerhead in the North Shore will be tapping FIVE BEERS from Bethel Park's Spoonwood Brewing, FIVE BEERS from Indiana's Levity Brewing, and FIVE BEERS from Indiana's Noble Stein Brewing and YOU get to decide who comes out victorious in the first-ever Triple Threat Tap Throwdown.
The wait is finally over! On Friday, October 19th, Caliente will be launching their new Craft Cocktail menu! They’ve been working long and hard to perfect these delicious creations. So celebrate and join them for the official launch.
The Modern Cafe was established in 1933 and on December 5, 1933, the 21st Amendment to the US Constitution was created to ratify the 18th Amendment, which mandated Prohibition on alcohol. The Modern Cafe is teaming up with the awesome folks at Wigle Whiskey to bring you Illegal Libations: Prohibition Cocktail Night! Head to The Modern as they throw it waaay back with cocktails like French 75, Bees Knees, Manhattans, Gin Rickeys, and more!
Gaucho is taking a weekly residence at the Wigle Barrelhouse and Whiskey Garden! They'll be on site with the Asado Wagon many a night to compliment our craft cocktails, Threadbare Cider and Mead Cider, and PA beer.
Once a year, Caliente Pizza and Draft House and Strange Roots Experimental Ales get together to release their collaboration beer, ❌The Plague❌.
If you missed out on the release at Strange Roots Experimental Ales (or just want more), all four Caliente Pizza and Draft House locations will have a draft release on Friday, October 19th at 7pm. Then, the bottle release the following day at all four locations at 11am.
This 3 hour hunt is lead by Steel City Ghost Hunters and will include 2 different locations (SPOILER ALERT: ITS NOT THE LIBRARY!!). We meet at Quantum Spirits, located at 230 E. Main St, Carnegie, where you can imbibe in a libation to steady your nerves, if necessary. Please arrive by 9pm for check in, photo ops, and waivers.
At 9:30pm, the hunt begins and you are off to your first destination where you will spend approximately 90 minutes attempting to make contact. From there, you will push on to the second destination to explore and try your luck for another 90 minutes of ghost hunting.
October 20 Events
The first annual Steel City Sip & Sweets will bring together 20+ Pittsburgh specialty coffee shops and bakeries! Guests will be able to taste and shop as they visit the local coffee shops and bakeries while texting their vote for “Best Sip” and “Best Sweet."
Sidelines is celebrating Pittsburgh Libations Week with their first Brewery Chili Cook Off!! Spoonwood Brewing, Brooklyn Brewing and Sobels Obscure Brewing will be competing for the bragging rights of the best chili!
Tickets are only $15 and includes a cup of Chili + a 10oz. draft from each brewery. Then, vote for your favorite!
Every Saturday, PA Pure Distilleries (the makers of Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka and BLY Silver Rum) will open the doors to their distillery from 12pm-6pm for free tours, tastings, and cocktails!
Come learn more about their process and sample award-winning vodka and white rum neat. You can also kick back in their lounge with a cocktail and shop in the store!
They will conduct tours on the hour starting at noon, so they ask that you please be patient as they walk through their process group by group. You will be given step-by-step descriptions of their process from potato and molasses to bottle.
